Wednesday, 10 March 2010 12:29

The Black Hills Playhouse is a step closer to being able to stay in Custer State Park. The South Dakota Legislature agreed today to continue the state lease with the Playhouse to give the theater time to raise money to fix up the facility. The bill extends the lease until 2019, as long as the playhouse makes state-approved repairs and improvements by 2012.After the Senate passed the bill Wednesday, it heads to Governor Rounds, and it will become law if he decides to sign it.The Black Hills Playhouse has operated in Custer State Park for 64 years.
