We are fighting their war, on their behalf, for their benefit. They should at least foot the bill. Since their money has no real value, they can pay off that bill with oil. Start filling the tankers and send them our way.

I think we should get the hell out of there and let them settle their issues on their own

I support continuing funds for the Iraqi war. Congress approved this action when it started. Because it is an election year, now they renaging on this commitment. Our troops need our support and funds to accomplish the mission, the congress commited them to. Regardless of what the Democrats and the three mainstream medias say, our troops have made tremendous progress and victory is within sight. For those who oppose the war, well they can tuck their tails and retreat, NOT our troops. Rick Gonzalez, veteran

The Iraqi Constitution, while establishing Islam as the state religion it guarantees, freedom of religion, and equality of all people. It commits the state to principals of democracy, commits the state to fighting terrorism (Article 7), and bans the development, manufacturing, and use of WMD (Article 9e)5. There are also articles regarding Freedom of the press, non-violent free speech and the ownership of property. The full constitution can be read at (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/10/12/AR2005101201450.html ) 78 percent of 9.8 million people voted for the Constitution . While the Iraqis need a stable government and it may take time for the democratic process to work, they have established many noble goals. The Iraqi deaths from violence are setting four-year record lows. Last month at 19 was the lowest monthly U.S. deaths of the War, at 29 this month it’s still among the top ten. We need leaders that will support a stable democratic Iraq, our troops, and our country.
